Over the summer holidays, our Headteacher, Mrs Young, proudly represented the Harewood Combined Training Team at the British Riding Clubs National Championships at Swalcliffe Park, Oxfordshire.

Competing across dressage, showjumping and cross-country, the Harewood team overcame the disappointment of losing one of their team after a horse was injured following the showjumping phase to finish an impressive 12th overall. It was a fantastic achievement at such a prestigious national event.

Reflecting on the event, Mrs Young said:

“I felt incredibly blessed to have even made it to the Championships. Competing as part of a team was a wonderful experience, and the support everyone gave each other was fantastic. The cross-country phase was both terrifying and unforgettable—it really highlighted the partnership I’ve built with my horse over the last five years.”

Everyone at Richmond House is incredibly proud of Mrs Young. Her achievement is a reminder to our pupils that with hard work, perseverance and a genuine love for what you do, it’s possible to achieve great things both in and beyond the classroom.
