There is nothing quite like finding a cosy spot, opening a good book and getting lost in another world – and over the summer holidays, our library underwent a wonderful transformation to create an even more inviting space for our pupils to do just that.
Designed around a nature-inspired theme, the refreshed library features plants and greenery, alongside a growing collection of cuddly animal friends who have already found their favourite reading spots!
We have opened up the room to create more space for pupils to sit comfortably, browse the shelves and enjoy our collection. New book holders allow us to showcase more titles with their covers on display, while the collection itself has been carefully edited and reorganised to make it easier for pupils to explore. We have also created a dedicated display for our younger readers, with a selection of books that will be refreshed regularly.
Reading is an important part of life at Richmond House, and we want our pupils not only to develop the skills that come with reading, but to discover the simple pleasure of finding a book they genuinely enjoy. Pupils have regular opportunities to visit the library, explore different authors and genres and choose books for themselves.
A huge thank you to our brilliant Estates Team, who worked incredibly hard over the summer to bring the transformation to life. It has been wonderful to see pupils already making themselves at home in their new-look library, and we’re excited for a year filled with plenty of good books and new discoveries.
