Our Year 3 pupils reached an exciting milestone this week as they represented Richmond House in their first sporting fixtures.
On a beautiful, warm September afternoon, the girls welcomed Brontë House for a football tournament, while the boys travelled to Bradford Grammar School for an afternoon of tag rugby.
It was a proud moment to see this group of pupils take another brilliant step forward in their sporting journey. They represented Richmond House with great pride and did a fantastic job of putting into practice the skills they have been developing during their PE and Games sessions. Fixtures give pupils the opportunity to experience those skills in a real sporting context – working as a team, making decisions and enjoying the excitement of representing their school.
We’re looking forward to plenty more fixtures ahead and following their sporting journeys as they progress through Richmond House. And who knows where those journeys might lead? They follow in the footsteps of Richmond House alumni who have gone on to compete at the highest levels of sport, including professional rugby player Obi Ene, England badminton international Sian Kelly, and international swimmers Ciara and Leah Schlosshan. Perhaps this was the first fixture for another future sporting star!
