At Richmond House, we are incredibly fortunate to have such a strong and inspiring music department. Alongside our wonderful Director of Music, Mrs MacGregor, Mr Wayne Pollock plays a key role in nurturing a love of music across the school.
Mr Pollock does a fantastic job working with our pupils, whether in classroom music lessons, individual piano tuition, or supporting our groups and ensembles. Beyond school, he is also an accomplished and highly respected musician, with an impressive career in the music industry.
He has worked with a number of renowned artists, including Take That, The Corrs, and Jools Holland, and has written songs in collaboration with artists such as Corinne Bailey Rae, Jane McDonald and Lovely Laura. Earlier in his career, he was part of the band Ten Millenia, who achieved chart success with a single that was featured on the BBC Radio 2 playlist.
We are especially excited to share that Mr Pollock has recently co-written a new song with Jane McDonald, titled How Do I Move On. This beautiful ballad, written collaboratively with Mr Pollock contributing both piano and lyrics, is set to be released this Friday. We were also delighted to see Jane McDonald mention Mr Pollock on James Martin’s Saturday Morning over the weekend – a wonderful recognition of his work.
We are very proud to have Mr Pollock as part of our Richmond House community, and our pupils are truly inspired by learning from someone who brings such passion, experience and real-world musical expertise into the classroom.
