As part of our Science Week celebrations at Richmond House School, we were delighted to welcome Richmond House parent Mrs Neil, who led a fascinating and engaging workshop for our Year 4 pupils on ultrasounds.

Mrs Neil introduced the children to the science behind ultrasound technology, explaining how it works and how it is used in medical settings. The pupils were captivated as they learned how sound waves can be used to create images of the inside of the body.

The highlight of the session was a hands-on activity where the children had the opportunity to try the equipment themselves. Using gel and a handheld scanner, they were able to scan different parts of the body and see the ultrasound images appear live on an iPad. It was a wonderfully interactive experience and gave the pupils a real insight into how this technology works in practice.

A huge thank you to Mrs Neil for delivering such an exciting, informative and engaging workshop. It was a fantastic way to bring science to life for our pupils and a memorable part of our Science Week celebrations.
