We are immensely proud to celebrate Richmond House School alumna Sian Kelly, who has recently been crowned England National Champion in women’s doubles badminton.
The competition took place at the National Cycling Centre in Manchester, where Sian and her doubles partner, Lisa Curtin, delivered an outstanding performance. In a thrilling final, they defeated the reigning champions and top-seeded pair 21–13, 21–17 to claim the national title for the first time — a significant milestone in Sian’s sporting career. The occasion was made even more special by the presence of her parents in the crowd, sharing the moment with her.
Sian’s success will be familiar to many in our community. Last year, she returned to Richmond House as Guest of Honour at the Year 3 to 6 Prize Day, where she delivered the main address. Her powerful speech traced her journey from RHS pupil to international athlete, sharing lessons of resilience, dedication and passion that resonated deeply with pupils, parents, and staff alike.
Sian continues to be an inspiring role model, and we are immensely proud of all she has achieved. Her story is a wonderful reminder of where determination and hard work can lead.
