Year 3 enjoyed a fantastic orienteering adventure in Meanwood Park. After spending the last two weeks creating their own maps and learning about map-reading skills, the class put their knowledge to the test in an environment they weren’t fully familiar with, and it worked brilliantly.

They successfully located all the markers hidden throughout the park, discovering that the letters they found spelled out the word Meanwood. They even challenged themselves to create additional words from those letters.

It was a beautiful morning and a joy to see the pupils immersed in nature, exploring the woodland and open spaces right on our doorstep. Their excitement grew even further when they caught a glimpse of a heron – a special highlight of the day!
