This week, our Year 4 pupils had the exciting opportunity to take part in the Brownlee Foundation Triathlon, an inspiring event designed to introduce primary school children to the dynamic world of triathlon through swimming, cycling, and running. The event is all about enjoyment, participation, and experiencing the thrill of sport in a supportive, non-competitive environment.

The Brownlee Foundation was established by Richmond House alumni and Olympic medallists Alistair and Jonny Brownlee. Having achieved incredible sporting success on the world stage, the brothers are now committed to giving back through their foundation. Their mission is to inspire children from all backgrounds to enjoy sport, lead active lives, and discover the confidence and well-being that sport can provide.

Our pupils embraced the challenge with huge smiles and energy, throwing themselves into each leg of the triathlon with enthusiasm and determination. For many, it was their first experience of a triathlon, and they loved every minute of it.

The cherry on top of an already unforgettable day was the chance to meet Jonny Brownlee himself! The children were thrilled to ask him questions about his career, training, and his own memories of being a pupil at Richmond House.

We were also incredibly proud to hear from several volunteers who commented on how well-behaved and polite our pupils were throughout the event.

A huge thank you to the Brownlee brothers, all the volunteers, organisers, and sponsors who made this fantastic experience possible. It was a day our pupils will remember for a long time!
