Our U11 girls’ football team shone in the first round of the Girls’ Premier League Primary Stars National Football Competition, held at the Bodington Football Hub, University of Leeds. Organised by the Leeds United Foundation and Leeds School Games, the competition saw our team secure 4 wins, 1 loss, and 1 draw, earning an impressive third-place finish overall.
Games teacher Miss Haslop commended their efforts: “The girls played exceptionally well, and finishing third—just behind two highly skilled teams with academy players—is a fantastic achievement.”
PE Specialist Mr Caygill echoed the praise: “We’ve focused heavily on promoting girls’ football this term, and it’s been amazing to see the progress our pupils have made in such a short time. While they narrowly missed out on advancing to the next round, the team should be incredibly proud of their development and the excellent performance they delivered.”
