Our Year 3 residential excursion at the Cranedale Centre in Malton began with an exciting coastal adventure exploring Flamborough Head.

On the second day of their residential at the Cranedale Centre in Malton, pupils went hiking in Levisham Moors. The children trekked down Dundale Griff towards Dundale Pond where they learned about the effects of water erosion on the area and spent some time pond dipping for the different animals. On their return to the Cranedale Centre the children planted very humane mammal traps in the Crandedale woods, filling them with food and insulating them so they would be warm enough for any potential visitors.

On their final day they checked on the mammal traps before heading up to Bempton Cliffs to see the 500,000 birds that nest there during the summer.
