Under the guidance of Richmond House parent, Mrs Barton, our newly appointed Garden Monitors in Years 3 to 6, embarked on a guided tour of our Secret Garden. They explored the different beds, gaining insights into the various plants, and then proceeded to carry out several essential tasks.

The children planted lettuce, carrot, and tomato seeds into pots, constructed bug hotels to provide a welcoming habitat for our tiny garden inhabitants, and cleared and tidied the strawberry beds, ensuring ample space for new plantings.

In the upcoming weeks, during lunchtime sessions, they will continue to nurture the garden, tending to watering and other maintenance tasks to keep it pristine. The children thoroughly enjoyed their hands-on experience and are eagerly anticipating their ongoing involvement.

This captivating space was created by a dedicated team of parents, who cleared a disused wasteland behind our Science classroom and transformed it into a thriving garden that will provide endless opportunities for generations of Richmond House pupils.

We extend a big thank you to Mrs Barton for her help, guidance, and leadership in facilitating this enriching session that was thoroughly enjoyed by our Garden Monitors.
