Our pupils were delighted to welcome back Rocco the Richmond House Bear following his summer of adventures in Leeds city centre. Rocco spent 10 weeks on display in Leeds City Museum as part of Leeds Bear Hunt public art trial.

The Bear Hunt was organised by Leeds Hospital Charities who worked with creative producers Wild in Art to present a large-scale public art trail. Decorated by local, national, and international artists, designers, and illustrators, 35 giant bear sculptures hid in plain sight on the streets of Leeds.

The bears formed a family-friendly trail of discovery and brought Michael Rosen’s iconic ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ story to life and took visitors and local people on adventures around the city and surrounding open spaces.

Richmond House artists collaborated to design and paint Rocco and many of our pupils enjoyed visiting him in his holiday home.
