We are delighted to announce that from September Mrs Rachel Wilson will deliver specialist Drama lessons for all school year groups, whilst continuing her excellent work with our Nursery pupils.

Commenting on the appointment, Headteacher Mrs Young, said “Rachel joined us a year ago as a Teaching Assistant in Early Years, having previously worked as a specialist English, Dance and Drama Teacher. She has brought an extraordinary energy to our school, and her attention to detail is second to none.

Mrs Wilson has a first-class degree in Dance, and many years of experience leading Performing Arts in schools. She still performs, and does so with the dance group Dance Tribe, led by Leeds based Choreographer and Dance Artist, Emma Clayton. Prior to this she danced for several companies including Four Hands Dance Company, Precarious Dance Theatre and Avanti Display, and worked for ITV Youth Drama. Previously she was also a Dance Lecturer at Leeds City College and has helped establish Performing Arts departments within numerous settings in Leeds and Manchester, whilst also examining GCSE work.

Moving forward she will help us expand the opportunities available to our pupils for creative performance, both within the curriculum, and as part of our extensive enrichment program. I am thrilled to be expanding our specialist provision in yet another area of our school and I am sure we will unearth even more talent from within our pupil body.”
