Richmond House artists have collaborated to design and paint a bear sculpture which will be on display as part of the Leeds Bear Hunt public art trail.

Leeds Bear Hunt will bring the magic of Michael Rosen’s iconic children’s book, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, to life with a blaze of colour and creativity.

From 1st July 2023, giant Bear sculptures will hide in plain sight for ten weeks on the streets and within the parks of Leeds.

Speaking about the project, our Specialist Art Teacher, Mrs Hart, commented:

“We had lots of ideas submitted for our Richmond House Bear sculpture and I was really impressed by our pupils’ creativity and artistic talent. In addition to asking pupils to submit ideas for the design, we asked each year group to propose a name for the bear to Mrs Young who has chosen the name ‘Rocco’ which was suggested by Year 1.”

Our artists, with the help of Mrs Hart, have worked tirelessly and we think they have done a marvellous job! We can’t wait to see Rocco on display as part of the trail!
