Last week our School Council delivered an assembly to their peers and introduced their new initiative of ‘Buddy Benches’ in the playground, which have been beautifully painted in our house colours by Mr Pearson. The benches have been placed on both the playgrounds and are a place where children can meet with a friend or will be joined by someone if they have not already got a ‘buddy’.

The School Council is an incredibly important part of a whole-school commitment to listening to the views and wishes of all our children. We place great value on what children tell school staff about their experiences and work hard to provide opportunities for them to do this. The representatives, voted in by their peers, are from Years 3-6. However, we have a designated form time when children from all age groups can put forward ideas that are aimed to make Richmond House an even happier place to be. The older pupils enjoy gathering ideas from the younger children and work hard with Mrs Smyth to get their ideas actioned.
