This week, we were delighted to welcome Hearts in Little Hands into school to give all of our children essential basic life saving and CPR skills.
Hearts in Little Hands are a team from the Emergency Department at Airedale hospital who volunteer in their spare time to visit local primary schools to teach the children much-needed life support skills.

All of our children from Nursery to Year 6 took part in workshops where they learned about healthy hearts and how to help in an emergency. They practised putting someone in the recovery position and how to do basic CPR.

We believe that everyone should learn basic first aid and CPR and teaching the children these life skills from a young age gives an excellent introduction and helps to eliminate the fear surrounding delivering first aid treatment in a potentially life saving situation.
