Richmond House School is a warm, happy community. The Parents’ Association plays an integral role, enhancing our school’s spirit by hosting events which bring us together socially and raising funds to pay for items of benefit to the children.
Several fundraising events are held over the course of the year with the proceeds put back into school through items deemed as non-curricular; that is, objects, equipment or excursions that the school is not responsible for through its budget but those which will enhance our children’s’ learning experience none the less. Our adventure playground, yurt, chicks and ducklings, games and video equipment, and many trips are just some of the items we have funded in the past. More recently, we part-funded the new interactive touch screen in the school hall and have purchased resources and equipment for the Outdoor Learning area. Everything is of value to the children and staff, and we will continue this activity thanks to your support.
Our annual fundraising events include a Christmas Fair, School Discos, Spring Ball and Summer Fair, each one raising £1,000 on average. We hold ad-hoc events during the year such as film nights and social events and support school events with refreshments and catering stalls.
Please look out for our events which are promoted in the School Newsletters and on the Calendar.
Each class has a Parent’s Representative who is available to answer any questions, to help with organisation or to simply be a friendly face to new parents.

Second Hand Uniform
We also sell second-hand uniform throughout the academic year to encourage recycling and to help our parents save money; this raises well into the thousands of pounds, just by parents bringing in their children’s out-grown items.
Due to the change in uniform in September 2019, we are still currently building up stocks of the new style to enable us to have enough for a sale. Please bring any you have to the Office.
What Can You Do to Help?
Once your child becomes a pupil at Richmond House School, you are automatically welcomed into our Parents’ Association. We encourage all parents to attend our annual AGM during the first week of September and also to support us throughout the year in one of the following ways:
- As an Active or Committee Member – which involves helping out at an event, or attending our meetings and contributing your ideas on ways to raise funds.
- As a Supporter of our Events – which means coming along to one of our many fun and social events throughout the year, socialising with other parents, children and staff, and helping to raise funds along the way!
- Become a class Representative and help to answer questions and welcome new parents.
- By Shopping Online through easyfundraising https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/ – this is a simple way to incur extra funding for school with minimum effort. Some of the UK’s larger online stores, such as Amazon, John Lewis, M&S, and Sainsburys, give a percentage back to our school each time you spend money with them. If every parent signed up and spent £250 per year through this mechanism, that would mean an additional £1,000 for the Parents’ Association! It takes less than a minute to sign up; simply click on the link to their website, search for Richmond House School PA – Leeds and enter your details. Easy!
Thank You For Your Ongoing Support
None of our success is possible without assistance from our community! Please continue to help us help our children, in any way you can. If you’d like to become more active, or you have questions, please speak with one of the current team (listed in full below) or email parents@rhschool.org
