Charity Fundraising Events
We have our own School Council at Richmond House School which is made up from pupil elected members from Years 3-6. The School Council meets regularly to discuss charity fundraising and ways in which we can become more environmentally friendly.
Throughout the year the School Council organise the fundraising for our nominated charity for the year and national charity events.
Last year we raised funds for St George’s Crypt, we donated food at Harvest and toiletries at Christmas. We also held a 5K family fun run on our school fields in aid of both St George’s Crypt and Sport Relief and raised over £300.
Community
Our choir regularly sings at local community and charity events and we are often involved in other events within the Leeds and Yorkshire area.
Our facilities such as football and cricket pitches are often used by local community associations. If you would like more information on our facilities for hire please call our Bursar on 0113 275 2670.
Environment
Richmond House is committed to preserving the environment and we are committed to increasing our recycling and reducing our impact on the environment.
We have a team of Year 5 monitors who collect the paper recycling from around the school, and we also have a battery recycling facility in addition to the usual recycling collections.
The School Council have organised various fundraising events to raise money for improved insulation and light sensor switches to save money and energy.
Our Spring Concert 2018 was an impressive musical production called Ocean World, which was about the harm humans are causing to the oceans. As a result, the children were inspired to want to find out more about what they can do to help and the school has made a pledge to do all we can to reduce the use of plastic and amount of waste we produce. Even our new school blazer is made from recycled plastic!
