This week was World Book Day and at Richmond House School, we decided to celebrate books and reading all week across the whole school. The theme for World Book Day was to Share a Story.
We held a book swap where pupils brought in books they enjoyed and swapped them for others.
We also shared stories between year groups, Year 1 children read to Year 5 and Year 6 particularly enjoyed visiting Nursery and Reception to read to them. Other year groups shared their stories that they had written and many classes made bookmarks.
On World Book Day, all of the children were able to dress up as a book character. We had numerous Mary Poppins’, JK Rowling and David Walliam’s characters and many princesses and super heroes walking around the school. What another fantastic book week we have had!
