Year 2 have been out and about this week visiting Skipton Castle, which at over 900 years old is one of the most complete and best-preserved medieval castles in England.

The pupils have been studying castles as part of their History lessons and this visit brought their learning to life. They had a guided tour and explored all the different areas of the castle, they viewed the Banqueting Hall, kitchen and were introduced to the garderobe! This room was used to hang their cloaks and was also the location of the toilet, the cloaks were then used to wipe their hands on!

They especially enjoyed the dungeons when the lights were turned off! The watch tower gave them some lovely views over North Yorkshire.
