Last week, Year 5 went on their annual four-day residential trip to Bewerley Park in North Yorkshire and experienced a wide range of outdoor activities. Despite the inclement weather the children had a fabulous time, they pushed themselves out of their comfort zones, tried new activities and worked in teams to conquer new challenges.

In true Richmond House spirit the children overcame any fears and uncertainties and got stuck into activities such as kayaking, rock climbing, gorge jumping, mine exploring and team building. They even climbed to the top of Great Whernside where they encountered rain, hail and even snow! However, this still didn’t dampen their spirits, they all worked together to climb up and down the rocky hillside and enjoyed a much-needed hot chocolate when they returned to the accommodation.

Other challenges undertaken during the week included making a bed, keeping the dorm tidy and trying not to keep the teachers awake!!!

All in all, the children had a great time with top class instructors in the heart of beautiful Nidderdale.
