Over the past few weeks, the whole of Year 2 have taken part in a House sport competition. The first week was a tag rugby event which was held in very blustery weather. The year group were split into house teams and were involved in lots of hard-fought tag rugby matches. Standards were high, showing that the input from Mr Lowe and Leeds Rhinos is paying off.

The team managing and referring was done predominately by Year five volunteers who were very encouraging and displayed a great deal of maturity. There were many try scorers from all the teams but the final tally of scores meant that the result was Nidd 4th, Wharfe 3rd, Swale 2nd, and champions were Aire.

This week they played in a handball competition. The teams played lots of close fought matches of hand ball on the tennis courts and demonstrated impressive skills and focus. This time the Year five girls acted as team managers and umpires who did a fantastic job in supporting and directing younger pupils in a fair and kind way.

The afternoon went very well and in the end Aire were the overall winners. Well done to all involved.
