Last week we welcomed Katie from the Mad Science Group to our school, who held an interactive educational Science workshop for our Upper School children.

The children learnt all about how temperature effects molecules by fitting an egg into a bottle, about acids and alkalis with the help of a cabbage and saw the impressive fire bubbles chemistry experiment demonstrating heat conduction.

Katie used some very brave volunteers from the audience to help her with the experiments, and the enthusiasm from all of the children in answering the questions was fantastic to see.

Mad Science is the North’s largest fun science provider. They deliver fun, interactive learning experiences to children aged 3 – 13 years in schools, libraries, holiday camps, and party venues throughout the region.

We hope to offer an after school club from the Mad Science Group in the near future – keep an eye out for details!
