The first week back has been a busy one at Richmond House School.
Our Outdoor Learning lessons are well and truly underway and Year 3 were the first to try out the new excavation area. Mr Oldham, the Outdoor Learning Coordinator has been busy over the Summer, and a new area has been built in our Outdoor Learning zone, where children can dig, explore and investigate.
Last week the children were using archaeological techniques to hunt and identify human bones. They were all very enthusiastic and excited about what they found, and can’t wait until their next lesson.
Outdoor Learning at Richmond House School follows and supports key curriculum areas, such as Science, Maths and Art. The Outdoor Leaning zone has been growing and developing over the last year, and now consists of an outdoor yurt classroom, tepee, firepit, minibeast area and the new excavation area.
