The
focus of the school curriculum is to provide for the individual child,
a structured programme of education that is broad, challenging and
flexible.
The
objective is to equip every child with knowledge and to develop confidence
and life skills to meet their future needs in a fast changing world.
At
Richmond House we take great pride in our high academic standards
and in maintaining our traditional values. Creating an environment
of excellence where balanced, all-rounded academic success can flourish
and high individual achievement can be pursued.
Richmond
House covers all aspects of the national curriculum and offers specialist
teaching in all sections of the school from the very start, at nursery,
right through to the upper school.
We
emphasise to parents that Richmond House is a ‘feeder’
school to all schools providing further education for pupils 11+.
The
school curriculum is constantly reviewed and updated and an academic
‘Watch dog’ committee meets twice during each term to
evaluate performance.
Special
emphasis is placed on literacy and numeracy, each child’s development
and performance in all subjects is monitored and individual remedial
attention provided where necessary.
Subjects
covered in the Curriculum are English, Maths, French, Science, Geography,
History, Religious Education, Drama, Art, Design Technology, Music,
Physical Education, Personal Social and Health Education, Sports and
