SPORT

Yorkshire Primary Schools’ Badminton Tournament

Congratulations to our U11 boys’ badminton team. Last Sunday, Mark, Gosha and James represented Richmond House in this event in Doncaster and beat all the other schools except one from Scarborough and so finished the tournament as runners up, and each member of the team received a trophy.

Our U11 ‘twins team’ of Sian and Helen from Year 2 and Minnie and Harvi from Year 6 also played with great determination throughout the day and finished sixth out of the 11 girls’ teams. Well done!

Rounders Matches

On Wednesday 30 April the U11 rounders team will play Ripon Cathedral Choir School at home, starting at 2.30pm. All players may be collected from the pavilion at about 4.00pm. Parents are, of course, very welcome to watch. Good luck!

Reminder – Year 5 Trip to Edale

Year 5 are going to Edale on Wednesday 30 April. They should come to school in their own clothes with a waterproof jacket and should bring their bag onto the top playground. They will return at about 3.30pm on Friday.

PARENTS’ ASSOCIATION

Spring Ball

All tickets and information about the ball will be circulated in the week commencing 28th April.

Handbag Sale

Many of you will be aware that Amanda Sweeting, through her business of Soignee, has always been a loyal supporter of Parents’ Association events. She has invited the parents of Richmond House School to take part in a fund-raising hand bag sale to be held at the Grove Community Centre in Horsforth on 8 May.

The principle behind the sale is to recycle bags you no longer need or use and they will be sold at the sale with 50% of sale proceeds being returned to you and 50% given to school funds. Any unsold bags will be returned to you.

If you have any bags you wish to sell then we will pass them on to Amanda. You do not need to attend the event itself, although tickets are available.

Please bring the bags to school with a label securely fastened and giving the following information:

*
Your Name
*

Richmond House School Parent
*

How much you want for the bag (you can say how much you paid from new if it is a particularly expensive bag)

We will assume that any bag without a label is intended as a donation and all sale proceeds will go to school funds. In this case we will label bags but would not be able to return them if unsold unless you tell us otherwise.

Information about the sale itself and how to get tickets is displayed on the notice board on the top playground.

Please ensure all bags are with us through the school office by Thursday 1st May.

Upper School Disco

The disco takes place this evening in the school gym 7-8.30pm. See you all there!
