Curriculum
Richmond House School offers a broad and balanced curriculum.
There is emphasis on gaining fundamental skills of speaking, reading and writing, so that our children grow into confident individuals able to communicate clearly and intelligently. We furnish pupils with the skills they need to be articulate and literate so that they enjoy English for itself and are able to access all other subjects.
Basic numeracy is developed from an early age, and pupils are given a practical understanding of mathematics and taught how to solve problems. Science excites curiosity and pupils learn to investigate and use their knowledge and skills to interpret what they find.
Throughout the School, ICT gives pupils an introduction to the world of technology within a safe, monitored environment.
Equally important are the Humanities, where pupils learn about their world, and are encouraged to have respect for its people and the environment. Topics stimulate the inquisitive and celebrate diversity. The Arts, encompassing Music, Art and Design Technology, encourage even the youngest children to use their imaginations, to be creative and original and above all to have fun while they learn.
