SUMMER TERM 2009 - RECEPTION

Mathematical Development
Odd and even numbers, problem solving, tessellating shapes, data handling and 3-D shapes (names and attributes).

Communication, Language and Literacy
Early spelling skills and patterns, use of capital letters and full stops and using developing phonic knowledge to read new words.

Knowledge and Understanding of the World
In the first half term, Moving/Transport will be the topic, followed by Growth.

Creative Development
Dance, Role-play (builder’s yard/holidays), painting, printing, clay, collage and art appreciation.

Physical Development
Athletics and general ball skills are developed and short tennis is introduced.

PSHE
Keeping safe, including road safety, water safety and stranger danger are all included.
